Under Lily’s expert instruction, we started our journey to know and love the Taichi Sword 42 routine, we stabbed, thrust, blocked, parried, and pointed the sword, while moving left and right, back, front and oblique.
We discovered the challenges of balance and posture, focus and control of the sword plus the power, being aware of the space around us, and other students.
Professor Lily was very impressed by our excitement and dedication to learning the techniques and movements of Taichi Sword, with the excellent results achieved, and our enthusiasm for a further workshop in November.
“Training with the taichi sword increases ability in all the foundations of taichi, particularly balance and posture. It develops focus and spatial awareness, strength, coordination and fitness. It strengthens the arms and wrist, and improves energy coordination throughout the whole body. And it’s fun!”
